Since I've been on this assignment with weird hours, I don't check the traffic report before I leave - no rush hour traffic at 2:30 p.m. Apparently I should check it. Yesterday afternoon, around noon, a water main pipe broke and flooded one of the major expressways. Nearly 4 feet of water! Of course, it was the expressway that I take home. Traffic was re-routed and it took about 1 1/2 hours to go 30 miles. Thankfully no one was hurt!

Holy SHIT! That's some serious water.
I'll bet the drivers on the other side of the road were saying, "Holy crap, sucks to be them!" Weird how it was so contained to one side. Glad you didn't get stuck in the water.
I know, isn't that weird! They did end up closing both sides.
Then... this morning (again since I leave at such an ungodly hour, I missed it) there were crashed on both sides of the same expressway in the same area. Closed both sides again. I'm thinking I should avoid this area at all costs.
