Here I Am!

Well, after a brief stint of being MIA I thought I'd better do a quick entry to say that I'm alive. (And no, David, I haven't left you all behind to become a card carrying memeber of the BPC!) I've recently been assigned two new accounts at work, which is like learning two new jobs at the same time, which has been the main culprit. I'm so mentally exhausted after work, logging on the computer at home is about the last thing I want to do.

Also, I think I've been avoiding facing the fact that I'm not training for Detroit. It's hard to face it, but now just isn't the right time. Partly, I think I'm a little burnt out with running. The thought of running for four hours (really, even 2 hours sounds absolutely horrible to me right now) just doesn't do it for me and if you're going to run that long you should enjoy it. (Right, Mendy!?!) The other part, as you all know, physically I think it's too taxing on my body right now. I managed to do it last year, but I think I really pushed it and I need to let my body take its time to heal.

There. I've said it. I'm not training. I still feel a little bit like a failure, but as JP kindly reminded me, running does soley definine me.

Anyway, need to get back to work and I promise I'll be better about posting. Here's a quick picture of our one year anniversary date. JP suprised me and we did a beautiful, sunset dinner cruise on the Detroit River. Thanks to everyone for being there for me! Missed you all, too.

I am so happy you're okay. I figured life had gotten busy for you. I totally understand. Ours has been too... I have no time these days, and am just now sort of catching up with everyone's blogs (again).

I think it's wise for you to quit training if you're not enjoying it too! I know we're not supposed to be smiling through every last mile of runs, but it's got be something you want and enjoy most of the time.

The heat is soooo unbearable right now too!

Happy 1 yr anniversary! Looks like you had a lovely time! So glad you're back!

I'm not doing any triathlons this year. I think maybe this will be our off year and then next year we will both do awesome!
