As much as I wanted to hit snooze when my alarm went off at 7 a.m., I sucked it up and got ready for my 7 mile run. Last night I checked the weather and it said 6-degrees for 6 a.m. yeah... I'm thinking another boring run on the treadmill. As I was getting dressed, I looked at the temp and it said 18-degrees. Okay, if I layer (A LOT) that's a doable, plus it looks like it's going to be sunny. Convinced myself that this was a better option and started to layer up.
I'm so glad I did. It was a clear, brisk, quiet morning and I really enjoyed the run. I thought to myself, "oh yeah. You're back. This is the tough, look-forward-to-early-morning-long-runs-no-matter-the-conditions girl. This is the dedicated and focused girl that I missed." It was a good feeling. Apparently the mile markers weren't quite where I thought they were (did venture off the beaten path a bit) -- some "miles" were 7 minutes and some were 13 minutes. All in all, I probably averaged around 10:00 pace. Took a little icy spill when I was about half mile from home, but no serious injuries. Plus, it was cold so I couldn't really tell if I banged my knee or not. :) Can I just shout it again... "I'M SO GLAD TO BE TRAINING AGAIN!!!!!!"
When I got home, I huried up to shower and eat breakfast before we had to head out to see some more houses. None compared to the one we saw last weekend. i think that says a lot. We're going to look a few more and then figure it out from there. It's pretty overwhelming, very scary but really exciting.
Lunch with the girls tomorrow and then an easy run and some weight training tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great run today!
